Holiday Gift Guide: Fitness Enthusiast

According recent surveys, 45% of Americans resolved last year to either lose weight or get in shape in the New Year. If you have someone who is working on a healthier lifestyle, I’ve rounded up the perfect gift ideas to help them on their journey.  Whether they are new or have experience, run, cycle, walk, or hit the gym, the gifts below will inspire them to keep it up.

This is the perfect weight set for the fitness enthusiast that wants the option to easily increase weight size. A space saver, this set will keep you from buying four or five different weight sets as you increase strength.

TechRadar deems these as “practically flawless earbuds” and for good reason. They are sleek, well built, and deliver amazing sound quality. We’ve all had those earbuds that just won’t stay in your ear. Not so with this pair. There is a high degree of personalization that is enabled with the fittings which allow you to tailor the fit to suit your ears. This means they will actually fit and not fall out. They are perfect for exercising and because they are so light and well made, you can use them for pretty much anything. The only downside: if you want to use one earbud only it can be a challenge. Because they are tethered earbuds, when you remove one from your ear, we found it will pull on the other making it a bit uncomfortable. But when exercising, we always use both, so it wasn’t a big deal.

Not using bands with your workout? You are missing out! When you use bands, it causes increased tension in your muscles and causes them to contract. The more you stretch the band, the more intense the resistance gets, and the harder the exercise becomes. I love adding these to squats to ensure my legs don’t move out and they are great face pulls or other back exercises at home where you might not have resistance equipment. Additionally, these are excellent for traveling. Pop these in your bag and you have an incredibly lightweight workout tool to keep you fit on the road.

The Bosu ball trainer might just be my favorite piece of equipment in my home gym. I stand on this for squats and lunges, turn it over to stand on it for squats and pushups, and more. The Bosu requires you to engage your core or you will fall off, so if you’re looking to add intensity to your workout, the Bosu is for you.

I was reluctant to get an Apple Watch and now I’m a convert. While I don’t want to answer my phone or email from my watch, I do want to keep track of my heartbeat, calories torched, distance moved, and more. The series four really takes fitness tracking to the next level and also seamlessly integrates with multiple fitness apps to share information.

Do you drink half your weight in ounces every day? Most of us don’t and it’s not because we don’t want to. It’s simply because we lose track of how much we’ve had or don’t realize we need more. This water bottle takes the guess work out of it. The bottle is labeled with times on it and you should have consumed the amount of water listed by that point each day. An easy way to remember to get that water in!
