Why I Start My Day with Lemon Cayenne Water
For a number of reasons, I don’t drink caffeine and miss having my cup of coffee as part of my morning ritual. Decaf tea and coffee are ok but I don’t love them so I’ve started drinking warm lemon cayenne water as a replacement. With anti-fungal, immune boosting, and detoxification properties, lemon cayenne water is a powerhouse drink and a great way to start your day.
Lemon juice is great for digestion because it destroys bacteria and cleanses your system. It supports the liver and kidneys to get rid of toxins.
And cayenne increases metabolism, stimulates the circulatory system, aids in digestion, and help regulate blood sugar.
Warm water in the morning is incredibly good for your system as well. Warm water helps flush your body of toxins and it breaks down the food in your stomach. When toxins have been removed, your blood circulation also improves.
Putting everything together (lemon, cayenne, and warm water) delivers you a quick immunity-boosting drink to start your day.
There really isn’t a recipe for this - just do it to taste. I generally juice one or two lemons, add a couple of dashes of cayenne pepper and fill my coffee cup with warm water. Play with the proportions to suit your taste. Some people will add stevia so add it if you need it. No time to juice a lemon? Just use lemon juice from the store or from lemons you’ve already juiced.
